4741 – IT – Applications Developer - Senior
Starting Salary -- $60,049 – 83,200 Annually DOQ
This position is in the Pima County Recorder's Office. OPEN UNTIL FILLED.

This position is essential to the functioning of the Recorder's Office. We are in the process of making changes to the Voter Registration Program and making upgrades to our website in order to keep pace with modern technology and expectations. This position is involved in all technical aspects of software applications related to systems applications and on-going support services for in the Recorder's IT team. This classification is distinguished from the IT Applications Developer classification by its assignment to more complex, specific applications development and maintenance tasks.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, university or technical trade school with a major in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems (MIS), or a closely related field as determined by the appointing authority at the time of recruitment and two years of work experience in software development and maintenance.
An Associate's degree from an accredited college, university or technical trade school with a major in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems (MIS), or a closely related field as determined by the appointing authority at the time of recruitment and four years of work experience in software development and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):
- Five (5) plus years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience using ITIL, Agile, XP, or similar methodologies.
- Proficiency and demonstrated experience in Principle Programing Environment; Windows based programing (WinForms).
- Proficiency and demonstrated experience in Microsoft technologies within Visual Studio including; ASP.NET MVC and Web Forms, WCF/XML Web Services, Windows Services, etc.
- Experience implementing solutions in Oracle and PL/SQL is required. Knowledge of Oracle database object types including; tables, views, packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, sequences. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills preferred.
- Proficiency and demonstrated experience in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio).

Licenses and Certificates: Some positions may require appropriate licenses or certifications at time of appointment or within a specified timeframe, e.g., Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS). Some positions require a valid Arizona Class D driver license at the time of application or prior to completion of initial/promotional probation. Failure to obtain/maintain required licensure/certifications shall be grounds for termination.
Special Notice Items: Current voter registration in Pima County, as required by Arizona State law, is required at time of appointment and must be maintained as a condition of employment. The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County.
Physical/Sensory Requirements: Some positions require lifting equipment, climbing, working on towers, elevated or below grade platforms. All positions require the ability to identify industry standard color-coding of electrical wiring and components. Other physical and sensory abilities will be determined by position.
