POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is in the consolidated Facilities & Budget Division of the U.S. District Court, U.S. Pretrial Services, and U.S. Probation Office for the District of Arizona and reports to the Facilities & Budget Division Manager. 

The Property & Facilities Technician performs duties which ensure the court is supplied with materials, equipment, and services to function optimally. The incumbent performs administrative and technical work related to property, supplies, equipment, and day-to-day space and facility issues. The Property & Facilities Technician ensures compliance with appropriate guidelines, policies, and internal controls.

 *The salary listed reflects the full salary range for the position. The expected initial salary range is $46,297 - $57,394.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES 

  • Assist the custodial officer with the accounting and safeguarding of property (i.e., computers, equipment, furniture, etc.).
  • Store, organize, and secure property.
  • Receive supplies and property; reconcile items with packing slips.
  • Issue supplies and property to requesting customer.
  • Use an automated system to maintain and update property records.
  • Identify and assist with disposal of excess property.
  • Use an automated system to track projects and facility issues.
  • Assist with the management of space and facilities projects.
  • Assist with activities such as responding to building issues, escorting vendors, moving furniture and equipment, event setups/teardowns, minor workstation modifications, and driving government vehicles as needed.
  • Occasional travel to divisional offices (Flagstaff, Tucson, Yuma).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Occupational Information

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or equivalent and two years of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible work that indicates the possession of, or the ability to acquire, the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. 

 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • One year of experience in public sector property and/or facilities management. 
  • Experience with automated property management systems.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in a related field.
