SUPERINTENDENT WATER / WASTEWATER & PROPANE

SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in installation, maintenance, repair, expansion and relocation of water distribution and sewage facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages and directs up to 17 staff within the Operations Division of the Water/Wastewater &
  Propane Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this
  unit.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and
  applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and
  directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
  complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/ or EXPERIENCE

• Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and three years related experience;
• Or five years related experience and/or training;
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience and certification in water treatment or water distribution.
• Experience in water well operation and Water and Wastewater construction.
• Experienced with programmable logic controls, radio telemetry and remote level transmitters.
