Civil Engineer II

Essential Job Functions:

1. Responsible for the design phases related to projects for the land development industry.
2. Design work includes site, grading, utility, wastewater systems, storm water systems, road work, and flood studies/migration.
3. Complete work according to standard engineering principle and practices and compliance with company standards and quality system procedures.
4. Create and document concepts, sketches, models, layouts, submittals, instructions, and complete production packages.
5. Identify and resolve incomplete or conflicting design inputs.
6. Perform design calculations, prepare material and equipment specifications, and provide preliminary sketches and notes for drawings.
7. Coordinate the design work for a project.
8. Act in a lead role over some drafters.
9. Work closely with more senior staff members to learn and assist in design work.

II: Experience and Experience Required:

1. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering plus 5 years of experience performing civil engineering duties in the field of site development and/or public works projects including grading, drainage design and paving, at least 3 years of which involved projects in the Pima County and Tucson, Arizona regions

III: Special Skills Required:

1. Familiarity with Pima County and Tucson, Arizona development and building/engineering codes and procedures;
2. Experience working in all phases of development projects;
3. Experience drafting, designing, and producing civil engineering plans, including street plans and profiles, site grading, paving, drainage system design, detention facilities, utility layouts, and other related site improvements for commercial, industrial, and municipal civil engineering projects;
4. Experience with AutoCad and Civil 3D.
